HISTORY

The history of the Design Institute JSC «GT Morstroy» establishing is directly connected with the USSR Navy Institute for design of offshore and onshore objects  ― 23rd State Marine Design Institute of the Ministry of Defense of Russia (23rd GMPI), established in 1932.

 

Since the 1990s, employees of the 23rd GMPI hydrotechnical engineering department, along with the Navy facilities, began to design marine transport facilities.

 

First of all, these were hydrotechnical facilities of new yacht ports on the territory of the Baltic States.

 

The collapse of the Soviet Union and the disastrous situation of the army and the navy in the 1990s led to the necessity to create a new design organization in 1997 ― JSC «GT Morstroy», specializing in the design of marine transport facilities.

 

The core staff of this organization were highly qualified employees of 23rd GMPI  hydrotechnical engineering department.

 

The foundation of JSC «GT Morstroy» allowed retaining the team of specialists, to preserve the experience and the design school of marine facilities, founded by several generations of hydrotechnical engineers, graduates of the Military Engineering School (VITU) and the Leningrad Polytechnic Institute.

 

Since 2002, the company has expanded the scope of its design activities and along with separate hydrotechnical structures, has begun to carry out complex projects of marine transshipment complexes as a General Designer.

 

Years have passed and the team of the organization was enhanced with engineers of all construction specialties, as well as the survey department possessing necessary equipment and carrying out a full complex of survey works in-house.

 

 Currently, the Design Institute JSC «GT Morstroy» is one of the leading design organizations of the Russian Federation, performing a full range of design and survey works on maritime transport.
